monarobot:

Stylized illustration by Monica Robles Corzo aka Monarobot of the Death character from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio film- the stylization is evocative of mesoamerican art and other ancient carvings from around the world- the character, a serene masked chimera with 3 sets of horns (the largest set over er in eyes), is looking straight ahead at the viewer while her body sits sideways- her wings spread behind her, more eyes and sharp teeth sprouting from it as well, while her tail, a scaly serpent within another serpent’s mouth, curls around her still body- every set of eyes, except those on her face, seem to be looking at something or someone standing in front of her.ALT

Death, from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, commissioned by the awesome Guy Davis himself, Co-production designer of the film.

The ending of this stunning movie helped me feel less scared during my recent misadventure with cancer, I’m very grateful for getting to do this really fun commission

very happy with this reinterpretation- was hoping I could make her more unsettling as Death can be sometimes, while still being recognizable and serene. Particularly happy about the dual tail stylization.

I don’t think Ted Cruz is going to grow old and die, I think one day he’s just going to burst like the little pustule he is.
